Derin Diving Center's story belongs to the northern Aegean coast. From the harbour of Çandarlı, generations of visitors and divers have discovered that the sea offers far more than a view from the shore.
Led by Sırrı Özşen, the centre is closely associated with local diving, underwater photography and the stories of the region's marine environment.
Some diving directories give 1997 as the centre’s founding year; this remains a directory reference rather than a confirmed anniversary. Historical reports and visiting photographers’ accounts provide dated records of the centre’s connection with Çandarlı.
