The sea surface and underwater are not the same
A sea that looks glassy when viewed from the shore does not mean uniform visibility or current pattern at the bottom. Critical elements of planning for divers are wind at the surface, as well as water movement, bottom sediment, and the topography of the area to dive.
View distance is not a fixed number
Waves can stir up fine material on the bottom, and water near the shore may become cloudy. Light angle, time of day, particles in the water, and the dive team's use of fins can also affect the visible detail. Therefore, it is more useful to publish dated field notes rather than use a definitive claim such as “Visibility is always 25 meters at Çandarlı.”
Diving point selection according to condition
A day when a spot may be sheltered from the wind may not meet the same expectations on another day. The local team evaluates the options and cancels the plan when necessary. This is not a lack of service but a professional security approach.
What information should you look for in a marine report?
See the date, data source, and measurement location of a shared marine report. Weather forecast, water temperature measurement and direct observation by the dive team provide different information. Clarify the final dive plan with the center's current assessment.
