A name from the local underwater map
In his June 2013 interview, Sırrı Özşen described two banks between Karadağ and Kız Kulesi. This is a historical geographical reference, not a modern dive profile.
What do we actually know?
A bank can refer to a raised feature of the seabed. The two specific structures need their local names, extent, depth range, access rules and current suitability verified by the dive centre.
The fascinating character of a dive site comes from the way rock, light, water movement and marine life meet. Yet conditions change, and historical descriptions must never be treated as current safety advice. The dive centre decides which sites may be visited, based on the day's conditions, permissions and participant qualifications.
Underwater photography and marine life
We will keep both formations on one page until the local names and photo records justify separate profiles.
A 2014 academic study documented 60 fish species in historical trawl samples from Çandarlı Bay. This is bay-wide research, not a promise that any of those species will be seen at The Two Underwater Banks. Actual sightings should be documented with dated local images.
Visiting with Derin Dalış
Please tell the dive team about your certification, recent experience, preferred dates and interests. The team can discuss programmes that may be appropriate under current conditions. Beginners should ask about the introductory dive experience first.
