Küçük Ada / Taksi — Dive Sites Around Çandarlı

Discover the history, local context and underwater photography of Küçük Ada / Taksi near Çandarlı, Türkiye.

A name from the local underwater map

Underwater photographer Bülent Şelli has referred to “Küçük Ada (Taksi)” in connection with his experiences aboard the Derin Dalış boat. The original post and precise site identity need verification.

What do we actually know?

We have not yet established whether this is a distinct dive site or a local alternative name for another location. We will not publish guessed coordinates or a fictitious dive route.

The fascinating character of a dive site comes from the way rock, light, water movement and marine life meet. Yet conditions change, and historical descriptions must never be treated as current safety advice. The dive centre decides which sites may be visited, based on the day's conditions, permissions and participant qualifications.

Underwater photography and marine life

Photographs can be added only with the copyright holder’s permission and correct location attribution.

A 2014 academic study documented 60 fish species in historical trawl samples from Çandarlı Bay. This is bay-wide research, not a promise that any of those species will be seen at Küçük Ada / Taksi. Actual sightings should be documented with dated local images.

Visiting with Derin Dalış

Please tell the dive team about your certification, recent experience, preferred dates and interests. The team can discuss programmes that may be appropriate under current conditions. Beginners should ask about the introductory dive experience first.

Matching the Taksi name across sources

A regional research document supplied on 20 October 2026 describes application record 929050, named Taksi, as a long wall starting at depth. Its exact location has not been matched conclusively to Küçük Ada / Taksi. The application’s depths, durations and wildlife descriptions are therefore not adopted here as verified site data. A separate regional guide in Turkish distinguishes Taksi, Georgia Şeytan and Vatoz and explains the limits of the source.
